Global SAP Implementations and SAP Rollouts – How we approach them!
Have you heard of the next generation of buzzwords like “Global Templates without any Customization”, “Fast and Cheap Implementations”, “Implementation of Global Standards”, “Sustainable and Efficient Business Operations across all regions”, etc etc. There are many buzzwords.
We don’t utilize buzzwords, only an honest and simple implementation and subsequent rollout approach. It incorporates standard SAP configuration, mostly pre-delivered by SAP, with a certain amount of customization. Let’s face it a system that is not somewhat customized is mostly unusable. Nobody likes to admit it but this is reality.
We also charge affordable rates because our markups are minimal. Our consultants take home the lion share of our billrates. We like it that way, so do they!
Our implementation approach starts with:
- Utilize SAP’s Solution Manager and SAP’s Active Methodology whenever applicable (Why re-invent the wheel ?)
- Start with SAP’s pre-defined templates for all known business processes
- Fit our client’s global business process into these templates
- Configure/Create any non-conforming global business processes
- Demo each process and obtain client buy-in
- Leave placeholders for localizations. We do not implement them as part of the global template.
- Create a regional rollout approach
- Design localizations for each region during regional rollouts.
We found that this is the most economical, fasted and most-accepted approach.
